Krispy Kreme Opens in Lima
The American company Krispy Kreme began operations in Peru with a crowded launch March 23rd in Miraflores. A second location will soon follow in Jockey Plaza shopping center in Santiago de Surco as part of a gradual roll-out that will ultimately include 25 locations.
But these will be more than just coffee and donut cafes. The Miraflores location will has more than 500 square meters and includes an entertainment area and three meeting rooms that can accommodate approximately six people each. The meeting rooms will be available to the public for business meetings, work, exhibitions and study groups at an additional cost that is dependent on the availability and number of hours the rooms are reserved.
The decision to add meeting rooms came after a study performed by the company that determined that Peruvian customers often go to cafés to hold business meetings or study in groups. Moreover, the addition of an entertainment area helps to appeal to a different segment of customers that are looking for a place to relax and enjoy time with family.
According to Percy Noblecilla, brand manager of Krispy Kreme in Peru, the new cafes aim to appeal to all types of people, of all ages, sex and socioeconomic backgrounds.
