Since Viva Air announced their intention to bring low cost flights into the Peruvian market last year, further information of their service has been hotly anticipated. Yesterday during a press conference, the company broke initial details, announcing that tickets for their flights will go on sale from March 20th, offering eleven routes nationwide for the price of s/59.99.

The service will take off on May 9th with its first flight from Lima to Iquitos. The airline’s other routes will be; Arequipa-Tacna-Arequipa, Cusco-Arequipa-Cusco, Lima-Cusco-Lima, Lima-Arequipa-Lima, Lima-Piura-Lima, Lime-Iquitos-Lima, Lima-Tarapoto-Lima, Lima-Trujillo-Lima, Lima-Chiclayo-Lima, and Tarapoto-Iquitos-Tarapoto.

CEO William Shaw of sister-airline Viva Colombia predicts that Viva Air’s arrival into the Peruvian market will see a 50% reduction in airfares for the consumer, and expects to see market growth reach over 40%.
