Re: Average English Teacher Salary in Peru?

You need to distinguish between English teacher in an institute teaching English, or English teacher for primary /secondary children. The latter will usually be paid more than the former.

Also, be careful when fixing a salary to be clear on whether gross or net is meant.

We used oceanexpress.co.uk when shipping from the UK to here. Shipping is expensive but you have nothing to lose in requesting a quote. We were paying for storage in Britain (that was also expensive) and it made sense to bring stuff that we didn't want to get rid of and use it here in Lima.

This law is a variation of the previous Ley de Incentivos Migratorios. The Peruvian has to have been out of the country for more than 4 years (no limit on how long). Apparently Peruvians forced back to Peru on account of their illegal status abroad can also take advantage of the law, the difference ...

Oopss Caliguy. Actually what I have been hearing recently is it is imperative to be prepared for an earthquake wherever you live (have a plan of what to do, emergency pack etc.) as well as minimise the risk in your neighbourhood/building type etc.
