Re: Marrying a Peruvian

It is a type of legalization, but if you just ask them to legalize the papers instead of getting them apostilled, you get something different if you use the term legalized instead of aposotilled. And the point of getting is apostilled is so that it doesn't have to pass RREE, thats why all these coun...

Re: Marrying a Peruvian

Apostilled is not the same as legalization. I got my birth certificate legalized as well as my certificado de solteria, and when they arrived in Peru, I had to take them to the RREE so they could legalize them, in order to take them to an official translator. Without the RREE stamps on it an officia...

Re: Marrying a Peruvian

A note on getting his US residency - if that is what you are going to do, (this is really far in advance but just FYI) to file a petition for his residency from Peru, you have to have been here (peru) or 9months or more, doesn't matter what kind of visa you are on. If you haven't been here for more ...

Re: Marrying a Peruvian

sorry about the misinformation about the apostille, I actually didn't get that done, so the process was a lot longer and involved, but the last time I did get it done for the Spanish Consulate, they did tell me how to do it, so thats probably what I meant. But yes, contact your consulate, and also c...

Re: Marrying a Peruvian

wbuendia, you should get your documents apostilled by the Peruvian Embassy in the states before you come down. Just getting the legalized means that you have to take the to the Ministry of the Exterior to get them legalized again and then to the translator and then back to the Ministry. If you get t...

Pack and Play

Hello All,

My family is coming to town and my nephew needs a pack and play to sleep in. Does anyone in the Surco/San Borja/Miraflores area have one that they no longer use that we could borrow?

PM me if you do, or know anyone who does! thanks!

brazil nuts are everywhere, they tend to call them castañas here. as for almond milk, not so sure, try madre natura. There is one in Surco on the Encalada and one in Miraflores by comandante espinar, I think.

I went to a rather expensive one when my vegan friend came to visit-Its not stictly vegetarian, but we both managed to eat vegan the entire meal. Its called Mezze, and its right on Larco closer to the bottom. Its a really cute restarurant with an outside seating place as well. Also on Saturday I fin...

Peruvian Cooking classes?

Hello! Would people be interested in taking Peruvian cooking classes to learn about more homey things/desserts? If so, what would you want to learn how to make and how much would you be willing to pay? My mother-in-law is thinking about starting to give casual classes in English, Spanish or German. ...

Re: When Applying for a Job - What Salary to Ask?

I would ask for between 600 and 1200, if you´re going to be working for a travel agency. I know some agencys were paying around 500 for full time web support work, but were willing to pay around 1000-1200 for coordinator positions.

Re: Moving to Lima

I live in monterrico, but I do see the appeal of living in Miraflores. More stuff to walk out your door to (maybe not supers) but other things like shops and cafes. Having the ocean nearby seems nice too, apart from excess mold. I feel like its also more walking friendly, like strolling friendly. If...

Re: chocolate chips

I usually buy chocolate that is for "cobertura". And I buy bitter, instead of milk, its more semi sweet anyway, and I chop it and try not to toss in the small slivers and powdery part from cutting it up. I can get it for around 8.50 for a box of 6 bars at the mercado/eden instead of 12-17 ...

Don Mamino´s is pretty tasty, and seems like a nice place for relaxed eating and conversation. A place that is not really for relaxed eating, but is good for yummy breakfasts is Chicharrones del Inca, for pan con chicharron with some juice.

todoautos.com.pe check out both the used car part and the car forum. the site is touch and go...sometimes it doesn't load, but people post on the forum. there is also a street crossing the Puente Quiñones called Nicolas Arriola-I think. they have newer used cars all lined up for like a block.
