Well it's almost a year since I wrote that and now I think it's a lot harder to get six new months.

Re: New immigration law

No, so far none of my friends have been denied re-entry to Peru. One traveled to US in March and returned after three weeks without any problems. One person traveled to Argentina in March and left for a month. Little discussion when re-entry to Peru, but she could also come back.

Do I need to prolong Rentista every year?

Hi I have a question to all of you that have a Rentista visa. I got my Rentista in January 2015 and on the card it says that it is for ever "Indefinido". If I understood migration worker right, so do I not need to "Prorroga" prolong Rentista every year. So my question to you tha...

Re: Can You Tell Me the New Rules for Re-entries for Expats?

This law does not seem to be fully in force. In May, a friend of mine got 183 new days on Lima airport, after have been on a journey from Peru to Argentina for a month. Another friend went in June up to Ecuador, one (1) day and received 180 new days, when he traveled back to Peru. Note, none had ove...

City, large or small, without firecrackers?

When I moved to Peru (from Sweden), I brought my dog. We live in Huanchaco and at the first time from June to December it worked well. But then firecrakcers has only become more and more and louder and my dog is terrified of them. The question is whether it is the same all over Peru? Shoots the same...

Re: New immigration law

A person on another forum has received information from Migraciónes that you can make border hoping until March next year and the fee if you stay too long on your visa is still to be $1 (but of course can be changed in the future). So maybe take the opportunity to jump now. But still, you know it's ...

Re: My way to Rentista

Migración want it to be in US dollars. But it is not necessary , my information was in my country's currency and it went well. It is a little "catch 22" of this, so thats why the document Declaricion Jurada "Banco" if you write such, that is fine without an bank account and you d...

Re: New immigration law

That was something I also wonder about. If you stay in Perú longer than the visa is valid, so one can always pay a penalty of $ 1 / day. Can one be "punished" in some more ways? Let's say you have been in the country three years after the visa expired, and want to travel out and then back ...

Re: Early Retiree Seeking Rentista Visa

Excuse if I penetrate me in here  I have a question relating Rentista: I will retire and move to Perú in June. In Perú I will apply for a visa Rentista, but the strong dollar is not good for me (I live in Sweden). I will probably not reach the $ 1000 needed to get a Rentista, I'm landing round...

Apply for Rentista in Trujillo?

My moving plan from Sweden to Peru in 2017 has changed, for the better. I'm moving in June 2015. Have a question regarding the application of Rentista. I'll be living in Huanchaco and there is a Migraciones office in Trujillo. My question is whether one can apply a Rentista in Trujillo Migraciones? ...

Re: Get a ride from Lima to Huanchaco

Thanks all for your replies, I have looked a bit on this by renting a car, but it is as you say, hard to get a car in Lima and leave it in Trujillo and I'd rather not drive myself, the traffic in Lima is crazy. I'll see, maybe I can get someone from Trujillo / Huanchaco come down to Lima and pick me...

Re: Get a ride from Lima to Huanchaco

Thanks for reply. I have traveled by bus between Lima and Trujilo and that time the bus was full of people and luggage and I want to be able stop on the road, for the dog's sake. Great idea with the charter.

Get a ride from Lima to Huanchaco

In about three years I'm moving to Perú, probably to Huanchaco outside Trujillo. When it's time I fly to Lima from Amsterdam, but in Perú I want to go by car between Lima and Huanchaco. This is partly because I have more than one bag with me and I also have my dog. But I will not drive myself. Do yo...

Re: Bus Lima to Trujillo

Kelly, okay it may be so, then I understand better why I did not find any VIP travel. Kevin, Linea is also something I looked at. But when I read the description of the different classes it seems to be no AC on day cruises. There is only "economico" on day trips and during "tipos serv...

Bus Lima to Trujillo

Hi In the middle of November, I will make my first visit to Peru. Landing in Lima, but only stay overnight. The next day, an tuesday, I planned to take a bus to Trujillo, but I find it hard to find any timetables. Is perhaps too early. Anyway, I want to get a bus to Trujillo in the daytime, with toi...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hi Rikard (Richard) from Sweden, Europe. New member here today, happy that I found this site, much good information about Peru here. Has not moved to Peru yet, my plan began in 2004 when I was looking for a country with a climate that suited me when I retire in 2020. My search ended in Trujillo and ...
