Re: Accountants in Lima

My wife has a two month consulting gig in Ecuador, and she is Peruvian. It is for about $2500 total. But they can only pay her in an Ecuadorian account, so she has to open an account in Ecuador. I am looking for an accountant to see how she can legally bring that money to Peru.

Re: Do not use UPS for receiving goods

Your better off with regular mail. I had a friend ship some clothing which was worth about $80 for his wife's nephews (infants)here in Peru. But when he filled out insurance he put the max $200 !!. Well guess what, they did not deliver it and his wife had to go pick it up and pay taxes. He thought i...

Make up to US $800 base plus commissions

We have a 4 year old call center. We call the US Mon-Fri from 12 to 8 or 11 to 7. We are hiring 4 new positions. After paid training, the base is $500 for 30 days, then $600 for 30 days, then $700 for 30 days. Then you get an $100 bonus for attendance. If you are doing very well, we might go to $800...

Shipping from the USA

I had some experiences that might be useful, as of November 2016. I ordered 2 waterfilter kits from the US. The first was shipped and insured with a value of $50. It arrived at Serpost, I received a notice and picked it up no problem. The 2nd kit was insured for $200 per the maximum available on the...

Re: Crime in Peru - Some Preparation

I have been the subject only of cell phone theft. But I know plenty of expats who have been mugged in the street, and Peruvians as well. I think one of the keys is to have something for them to take, but not too much. So whenever possible, I try to carry a debit card with only small amounts of money...

Re: Was Offered Job - How to tell if it's legit and a socially responsible company

Ask him if he can pay you cash daily because you need it for food, then settle for weekly. Tell him you have another offer from another agency. Don't accept a pay delay, but expect one. Nail him down on the pay date, and when that day comes and he delays, tell him you need it for rent, can you get 1...

Re: Advise on the new law

As of OCT 2016. I have a contact who works at the border in immigrations in Tacna. He told me the law has always been 6 months per year max. However, the software system they use allows the border agent to enter up to 183 days, and no more. BUT it does not limit him, so it is the border agents' deci...

Re: CREDIT CARD USE IN PERU...

As far as buying from Amazon, I have not done that, BUT I have been very successful with eBay. I purchased a part for my car that cost only $20, but shipping was also $20. The part here would have cost about $100, it was vacuum valve. I have a Banco Financiero credit card, and the rate printed is 75...

Everyone,
I have an office in Miraflores and my telefonica cablemodem goes down everyday. Clario does not provide service to my address. I have OLO as backup but its terribly slow. Does anyone know how to get a faster service, like a dedicated T1?

Don't by LAN airline tickets for travel in Peru UNLESS you are Peruvian. They have a fee of $170.00 ON TOP of the fare. Do they always enforce it? No, you can try to sneak by the gate if u get your boarding pass online. So for in-peru flights you have to stick with Peruvian Airlines or Star Peru. I ...

Re: How do these thieves at Telefonica still get away with this?

I have the 20 meg telefonica "Fibra Optica" which is a bunch of crap. Its just a coaxial cable (the old cablemodem). Its JUNK. Get ADSl if you can get them to sell it to you. The cablemodem loses connection every week for about 6 hrs during the business hours - which hurts my business. Its...

I had my tranny rebuilt the last week of March, and it is now August and it is having more issues, I think the torque converted might be fried. Re: shipping 3d Printer to Lima from USA

I thinking about purchasing the Felix 3.0 dual extruder for about $1500. Seems to have a large plate and reasonably good reviews.

If the import tax is about 28%,then if it shipped Fedex, does Fedex charge me when I pick it up in Miraflores? Or how do I pay the 28%?

My transmission was completely rebuilt. The owner of the shop had me see in detail all the parts that had to be repaired (discs, pistons, bearings, widgets, smoke and mirrors), he showed me the wear. There are probably 10 shops selling used stuff. The common term is "la cachina"
