Waiting period for Naturalization Process after turning in documentation

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows the current wait time for having all the documentation processed for Naturalization . It's been 30 days as of today, but I can't seem to find a place to check my expendiente online and, of course, the number they gave me (01-200-1000 ext 1461) is constantly bu...

Re: TEFL Certification in Lima

I'm sure that you could probably get it through one of the main language schools and that would probably get your foot in the door to start teaching at the same school/uni. La Catolica, or whichever main university that is closest to would probably be the best. I would bet that you could get it real...

Re: Using Bitcoin for money transfers?

You can buy and sell via localbitcoin or localethereum. It isn't really being used so much for transactions here, but I have seen one place that accepts it. I think that it is best used for money transfers. I have used Buda.com (formerly SurBTC) and have had a great experience. I highly recommend it...

Re: Plannning ~6 months of remote work for U.S. based company, tourist visa or work visa?

As you only want 6 months, you can get this when you come here as a tourist visa, just insist that you need 6 months when you come into immigrations/aduana. I told them that I wanted to get to know the extended family of my fiancee and do a lot of travelling to know the grandeur that is Peru. When y...

Re: Naturalization Exam in DIGEMIN

I was there last week. They told me there is no longer an exam if married to a Peruvian. I was also told that last year they decided that if you are married to a Peruvian your visa/CE is good for 2 years. You don't have to renew it every year, I double checked the reqs and this seems to be the case....

Re: Peru will Close the door to Undesirable Foreign Criminals

Hi all, There hasn't seemed to be any clear info on the subject or an answer to my post from over a year ago. I had my preliminary appointment with immigration the other day and recently had the joy of experiencing Interpol. Americans and a few other nationalities must also get their criminal record...

Orthopedic Specialist/Podiatrist

Can anyone recommend a quality Orthopedic specialist/podiatrist that could help with writing a prescription in order to make a pair shoes with special support from my incredibly flat, narrow feet. I've yet to find a decent shoe here in Lima and if I need to have pay money to actually have special sh...

I'm looking for a SWORN CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR (Traductor Public Juramentado) for several documents to comply with marriage and immigration requirements. Is there anyone that can recommend anyone? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Peru will Close the door to Undesirable Foreign Criminals

I've read several of these articles and they seem to not be too clear. Are we talking about people with ties to organized crime, drug/human trafficking, violent crimes, etc, or does this mean ANY criminal history (i.e. traffic violations, petty crimes/misdemeanors)? If you can get a tourist visa wit...
