Yeah I think to get lower than that you either have to be using credit cards (like I do for myself) or have to be over a few thousand dollars at once. Wow, which crossing have you been going to John? From reading stuff on here I was thinking of heading to la paz for a month and then try and return. It's almost 2015 anyway so if they did pull me up I wouldn't have to wait that long to re enter. Sounds like the Chile crossing is the way to go though

That is interesting ironchefchris, maybe that's the crossing I should aim for. From the sound of this thread at least, there's appears to be no yearly limit for tourists in Peru.
