Eukanuba is pretty easy to find at most vets in Lima, and is a good quality brand. We fed that to our beagle for 1 year and continue to buy it in the States.

Skype works pretty well for me, very low rates for US landline numbers. They have unlimited subscription based packages now. If you need a phone number of a certain area code, you can pay a few more dollars to have one linked to your account for receiving calls.

I've seen pretty high excitement among friends and family here, even taxi drivers like to talk to me about it. Peru was in a very difficult group that no one expected them to get out of, and they did, and came within a few seconds of tying giant Brazil in the process.

But think about it in comparison to other countries: In Peru all you need to do to legally live in the country is to do a border hop for a new "tourist visa" every 183 days; a damn good deal, especially having already overstayed.

You should have started with this one. If you are not interested in keeping your CE you don't have to worry about your situation too much. It's takes longer to defrost that block of frozen food than preparing something fresh. Only if the frozen food requires defrost. Many don't. I have popped many frozen dishes from freezer to microwave, as instructed, and they came out perfect. And those which require defrost can always be defrosted ...
