People from Huanuco have a reputation of being rude, disrespectful and unfriendly. Unfortunately, this is correct. The behaviour can be seem in all parts of daily life in Huanuco: traffic, crime, family relations, cleanliness. Besides 2 malls, there is nothing to do really. No tourism, no (outdoors)...

I guess fooks from Iquitos might disagree with you there. But I must admit that the road network is improving. Especially on this side of the Andes, lots of work is done by Chilean and Chinese companies and the quality seems excellent

Found them as well. But is seems there's a shortage of housing in Tarapoto and the offerings found online are quite steep. Most RE is sold through the informal network locally. So was hoping for some contacts.

For $280 you can fly all the way to Santiago. Nazca lines flight should be available for around $50 p.p. If you have 3 or more people in your party then try to get a full plane discount. Google is your friend here.

In Huanuco that is considered on time :D

Most delays are caused by lack of capacity at Lima International. Quite often the entire airport is backup till a grinding halt because of ground traffic blockage. Seen it several times. Lima needs to expand quickly.
