Re: Child support laws

Wow, well I'm quite shocked to have found out where the law stands in terms of my partner and how much he may have to pay. As a single man he would have to pay 60% of his wages to provide for the daughter and I believe even the mother if she can somehow prove that she can't work. That would leave a ...

Re: Child support laws

Adrian, I appreciate what I have wrriten in previous posts hasn't shed brilliant light on the situation. I'd like to clarify that I wasn't hit, punched, kicked etc but we'd been having a serious amount of arguments which were getting out of hand, as we were both under alot of heavy pressure and both...

Re: Child support laws

I'd like to point out that they haven't been seperated for 6 years, they were together for the majority of that time so what was defined for all that time was that he was the provider for the household financially in every sense. He has been a present father in that time and hasn't just been ´lollyg...

Re: Child support laws

Yes I agree we should be seeking legal advice. He most certainly isn't avoiding his responsibilities. As well as paying 750 soles per month he also pays for her private schooling, birthday christmas, clothes, EVERYTHING. At present his ex pays nothing. He owns the house that she and the daughter liv...

Re: Marriage anullment

Officially just under a year but we had met the year earlier and were dating for a while. I think he would agree to an anulment. I won't pretend that things were all roses prior to this but I never would have predicted that things could digress so rapidly in such a short time. Frustratingly, we stil...

Marriage anullment

Very embarassed to be in this position, but with the new immigration laws, myself and partner rushed into marriage as we felt like there was no other options for us to stay together. We've only been married a month and a half, but it's been a disaster and I'm ashamed to say that things have gotten p...

Is an interpol interview possible in Lima pre-marriage?

Hi, I've come to Lima to organize my docs for getting married in another region in Peru. Someone mentioned to me that it's maybe possible for me to have my interpol interview while I'm here this time, pre-marriage so I don't have to come back again post- marriage as everything else including my carn...

Re: Should I marry my Peruvian boyfriend?

Hey we are certainly not going to be having assets for a long time as I have a lot of debt, which he is happy to take on with me and even if this was to pass in the end I'm really not materialistic, I wouldn't want to waste my time fighting over something. I'm not sure what the terminology la vida c...

Re: Should I marry my Peruvian boyfriend?

Oh yeh and after looking into work visa options it doesn't look good for me as I don't have a degree. It's not impossible to get a work visa under those circumstances but it requires a lot more work to prove while you are better suited to the job over a peruvian. It's alot more money and there are n...

Re: Should I marry my Peruvian boyfriend?

Hi thanks for all the advice on this forum. Well I've decided that I'm going to go for it. We don't have the option of just having time apart because of this new law. Well it would be a minimum of a year but weighing everything up that would be difficult for both of us logistically, financially, eve...

New law January. Been here 2 years

Hi all, I've done alot of research on this topic recently and I've been here 2 years. Was planning to stay a little longer but as per everything I've read there is no way I can extend my stay without leaving for a year or getting formalized. I have a friend in immigrations who has said that even des...

Work visa in process, will I have to leave Peru if I don't receive my visa by Jan 1st?

Hey, about to submit an application for a work visa but worrying about the interim stage which would take me into January? What will happen if I haven't yet received the visa? Will I have to leave the country with this new law coming into play? Also, I am being supported by a school to get a work vi...

Re: Work Visa Rules & Regs. Help please!

Also, is it common to hear of people being declined for work visas? I'm putting a lot of eggs in one basket trying to get this done before January, and seeing as my boyfriend lives here, if I'm declined I'm going to have to head back to UK without money!

Work Visa Rules & Regs. Help please!

Hi, I'm about to apply for my work visa ahead of this law change in January and am lucky enough to have an English school who want to sponser me to do that, although it will be myself paying for the process. I'm hoping I can get it all done and dusted before January or even before christmas but obvi...

Re: How long is the process for getting a work visa?

So it took you about a month and a half in total? I'm hearing a mixture of things. I heard today from someone that applied for a work visa 7 years ago that because he didnt have a degree or official qualifications that they require additional references from previous employers. That was 7 years ago ...

How long is the process for getting a work visa?

I have an English school who are willing to sponser me even though i don't have any formal teaching qualifications which is great! Hi Adrian, I've been border hopping and so I'm not here illegally. I'm up to date with all my stamps! Re: Should I marry my Peruvian boyfriend?

I'm imagining that even if we got everything into process now, that I'd still have to have a period away from the country whilst finalizing a residency, which you can only have after 2 years of officially being here. Is that correct?

Hey, thanks for your response. Could you explain a little more about what you said about visa expiry? I've been getting stamped every 3 months since I've been here. Is there another factor I haven't thought about here?

I've been with my Peruvian man now for 9 months officially, however, we met at the beginning of last year when ...
