I just survived fifteen (15) days without electricity here in a condominium project in Huaral. As the property has its water from wells, I also had to endure no running water. Alan, the model # of the Bitel cell phone is - B8506.
People have told us the Bitel cell phones use inferior components, maybe your tech can verify this.

IMO, any company that sells an item of "value" should have parts to fix this item. This applies to a car to a vacuum cleaner & everything in between. The phone is not functional as the cracks are extensive over the faceplate but does work if you have the patience for the various button...

How can a person qualify for a "foreign license exemption"?
I have been told the Peruvian driver's test is mostly about history questions & very little about actual driving skills. My Spanish is not good, so I would probably have trouble understanding the questions.

Moving away from Lima is the best thing I ever did. I hated the traffic, smog, rude/pushy people, etc. Here in Huaral, we have nice weather year-round & very cheap food with the restaurants circling the main square, 4-5 banks & ATM machines, plenty of cheap motos, etc. I purchased 2 cottages...

IMO, you need to spend a lot of time together where you plan to live.
Many expats were once in your position & are now divorced due to the Peruvian cultural differences.
Take you time to be sure of your future together & exchange the "rose colled glasses" for reality.
