Multi-vitamins

Any suggestions on where to purchase good quality multi-vitamins in Peru?
The store & price for how many would be appreciated.
Do the vitamins include magnesium & zinc?
Best health to everyone.

Re: Whole rotisserie chicken - 9.90 soles

It is a CHICKEN, the same size as those in most other supermarkets (like Plaza Vea). If you want the fries & bottle of soda, the price is s/. 14.90. Huaral is perfect for us as we can be in Lima within 2 hours if we leave before the traffic is an issue. I am glad I enjoy chicken cause we eat a l...

Re: Most livable cities in the world

I personally know a bunch of former London residents that have come to Peru due to the Muslim influences.
The sharia law situation would personally bother me also.
It would be great if all nationalities could exist together, but some are too violent for the average person.

Waste treatment plant in Cusco

This is a good article as waste is a common problem in Peru.
Are there other treatment plants up & running or anticipated in Peru?

Whole rotisserie chicken - 9.90 soles

Here in Huaral, Plaza Vea has had whole rotisserie chicken for 9.90 soles for the last 4 weeks!
This seems like a fantastic price; what is the price elsewhere in Peru?
There are a lot of chicken operations in the Huaral area, so this may make a difference.
Enjoy!

Living in Huaral, what would be a good health insurance provider?
Scotia bank wants us to take a policy where the doctor/nurse comes to our home for about $6 a month for both of us.
Any comments about this policy, especially anyone who has this policy.

Pension options - Peru or US?

My Peruvian wife needs to start a pension as she was scammed out of her retirement money a while ago. Is she better off to use a retirement option from the US or set up a Peruvian pension? What scares me about a Peruvian pension is the previous hyperinflation that wiped out people's savings. Any com...

If so, are the communes still functioning or what happened?

Re: Seeking extremely low-budget accomodations

Even is the place was crawling with rats, I doubt 3 soles was the going rate. The woman may have had to provide "other services" to get a good rate, but I doubt it was 3 soles. I have traveled to many smaller areas in Peru & never paid less than 10 soles, but this came with bed bugs &a...

Re: Underwater restaurant in Lima?

Everyone has their own personal preferences.
With the super competitiveness of restaurants, an underwater place would have a tremendous advantage plus the option of lodging makes this a possible good investment.

I am perfectly happy living in Huaral, Peru; but if I was to do some traveling - these cities would appeal to me.
Enjoy your day.

I use the word "customer" when I should probably say "consumer". The attitude of the US Embassy is what concerns me; they could care less about this issue that could affect every expat in some way. The Embassy has an abundance of staff & could easily designate at least one to...

Re: No one seems to know?

Jimmy as you may have realized by now, customer service is a major issue in all of Peru. It would appear you do have to come to Lima, but the process is very simple if you don't have to pay a FINE! For those interested, here is the latest response I have had from Migraciones (a great example of poor...

When you are trying to contact someone important in your life, worrying about what these two guys posted is not an issue.
These type of posts waste everyone's time & don't add "value" to expatperu.
I am thrilled the two parties have reconnected thanks to Alan.
