We had no one hint for a bribe at any part of the process. It was a little confusing, and they had a huge backlog of residency applications, but everyone was very professional. In the middle of a trip to the USA now. Flew American. I purchased the ticket in July so 2 bags are allowed. Did not notice any worse lines and times checking in than normal. Will need to keep an eye on the cost of baggage when purchasing future flights.

Yes, if you are going to Mexico it is not a bad airline. On board service was fine. Airport customer service in Mexico City and the airport itself are a litle lacking but not a big problem.

My biggest problem was using the city as a hub for US travel.

And when I arrive in Phoenix there is an In-N-Out Burger on the way to my family's house. I usually make a quick stop... There are no burgers in all Peru like those.

One of the reasons we see so many gay couples in Lima where one partner is from the United States and the other from Peru is because we do not have any civil union/partnership rights at the Federal level in the USA. Immigration is still closed to same sex couples. Hopefully that will change one day....

I agree. It is a great trip. Combined with Kuelap and the surrounding towns it was one of my favorite trips in Peru. The area is really beautiful. The hike is long but not too strenuous. Path is well maintained.

Yes you can open an account if a "premium" member of BCP sponsors you. I had a sponsorship letter from such a person and there were no problems. I am guessing the large amount described by the teller is needed to qualify as a premium customer.
