To top it all off, Interbank did not hit me with an International transfer cost(as was the case with Scotiabank)...which Interbank originally said could be approx' 75 Soles. The on...

Re: Best way to cover yourself when using laborers

So, I’m planning some land-based projects, and will probably need the help of 4-5 workers for a period of 3 weeks. At first I assumed I would just go to the local pueblo and pay 4 people a daily rate to come help out for no more than 3 weeks. However, I’m wondering what responsibilities that opens ...

Re: Underwater restaurant in Lima?

Just wait for the next sunami... I've heard that the water is murky here, thanks to high amounts of plancton (great for fish, though), so the view might be kind of dismal. But on the other hand, there are all kinds of other new touristic offers popping up that take advantage of clear views in the m...

By not complying with a law, in this case immigration law, is that not committing a crime?

Jimmy as you may have realized by now, customer service is a major issue in all of Peru. It would appear you do have to come to Lima, but the process is very simple if you don't have to pay a FINE! For those interested, here is the latest response I have had from Migraciones (a great example of poo...

Re: Peruvian Pisco and India

Brandy is a distillation of grapes, right. But if they add water.. Is it still a brandy ? P.S. Technically speaking Pisco (in Peru) belongs to the family of brandy , but with a unique method of production. For example it is distillated once - just one time PS beg to differ. Factually.......brandy i...

I had it several times. No aroma and no flavor Did you know that they add water to reduce the level of alcohol ? Two different drinks entirely. Peruvian pisco has a much richer flavour. It's a brandy. I am not sure what you'd consider Chilean pisco. As I recall, it has a lesser alcohol content. I d...

The new law will allow goods in Lima bound north can go by ship instead of truck and vice versa? Yes you are right. Re: New port in Chancay

The good news is that the Cargo from-and-to northern cities as Chimbote, Trujillo, Chiclayo, etc. will not arrive to Callao Port anymore. This will relieve the pressure of traffic in Lima, at least for districts as Los Olivos, Ventanilla, etc. Bad news is, the northern cities must absorb Lima's rel...
