Even over the counter items such as vitamins can be stopped by customs when shipped by courier and they ask the recipient to present a prescription from a Peruvian doctor at the offices of the DIGEMIN. It's a huge hassle and would be especially so in this case, since it is experimental and a doctor...

Well you are almost right. Caricatures ARE inspired by real things, not usually. Caricatures are not as similar as live horses and lizards are, as you stated.

Besides being ignorant of Spanish, can you legally work in Peru? You need a CE or citizenship.
