Re: Peru helping to Venezuela

I hope that Peruvians try to refrain from giving in to xenophobia - in every kind of nationality there are bad apples - including our own - and we have sent enough immigrants around the world to know what having to put up with racism and xenophobia is like - no need to do it ourselves now the 'shoe...

Resignation of Kuczynski - What's to come?

Tough news again for Peru now that Kuczynski has announced that he will resign. Instability is never a good thing for a country. With Kuczynski now exiting the Presidency, how do you think Peru will be affected economically in the coming months/years? Will there be an advance in eliminating corrupti...

Re: Casual Networking - End of November

Hi Alan,

Thanks for pointing me in that direction! I’ll get an invite out there to try get a few more people to this event in a few weeks.

It’s been interesting seeing how few Expats are around the events I’ve been to but of course know there’s those people out there.

Thanks!

Casual Networking - End of November

Hello All! Happy upcoming Thanksgiving Day! My wife and I have been in Lima for about 4 months or so now working in a family travel business & Work/Travel Company in San Isidro. I've been surprised how few other expats I've run into at professional events throughout the city the last few months,...

Re: Buying Apartment - Seller Not in Lima

Thank you all for the advice on this! My wife and I ended up finding a situation that was a bit less tricky and didn't seem to be as fraught with problems. We just met the owners of another spot in Miraflroes and signed a "Contrato de Arras" and all looks like it's moving moving smoothly s...

Searching for Commuter/Mountain Bike

I'm on the hunt for a good commuter bike, a hybrid or a mountain bike, for riding around Lima. Ideally something fairly light weight and a men's large frame. Send me a message if you have something for sale. Looking to not really spend more than $300.

Re: US Football

Thanks for the tips on the corner bar and gamepass. I think we'll end up heading down to the corner bar on Sundays for a few games during the season to see how the scene is and see if we can meet some fellow Pats fans. I ended up finding some friends back in the States for a fantasy league last week...

Buying Apartment - Seller Not in Lima

Hello All, I searched the forum for my particular scenario and couldn't find any info. My wife and I are apartment searching and have closed in on some options. One we've found is owned by a guy living in China who apparently has a Power of Attorney here in Peru that is acting on his behalf for pote...

US Football

Hey Everyone, I hate to be "that" person from the States but with the upcoming US football season, I'm curious to see if anyone has found success in finding a place that shows games on Sundays. We live in Pueblo Libre but would head towards Miraflores or Barranco for some good sports bar t...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hey Alan, Thanks for the advice on the runners group. We'll get our lazy selves out there here very soon...at the moment we've been busy with work and stuffing our faces with all of our favorite dishes since arriving 5 weeks ago. Also we've been to the Union Church a number of weeks so far though th...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hello All! My name is Brian, and I just arrived in Peru a little over 3 weeks ago to give a shot at living and working here with my wife (who's from Lima). We're a young couple and my wife has always had a soft spot for returning to Peru from the States to work and to see if we could find success wh...

Re: Interpol Schedule

I just visited the INTERPOL office this past week. It's a headache to get in but their official hours are 8am to 4pm Monday - Friday. However, if you want to get seen, we were told by several employees there that they limit the number of people to 100 on many days. There seems to always be a line ou...

Re: Protestant Churches in Lima

Thanks for the tips! I've seen the Anglican Church in passing but may give it a shot one of these next Sundays. I definitely have noticed a lot of the Spanish language churches bend towards Conservative, charismatic traditions. We're going to try at least get started at an English language church bu...

Protestant Churches in Lima

Hello Everyone, My wife and I recently got to the city to live and work here and are in search of a Protestant church community. We're familiar with the Union Church in San Isidro, but are looking for any other non-ultra conservative options in either English or Spanish in and around areas out as fa...
