Re: Great Chifas in Lima

One of my favourites is Chifa Costasur. Located at Jiron Chamaya in San Miguel. (behind Plaza San Miguel) The service isn't that good but the food is excellent. I think that they pay their staff low wages thus causing demotivated staff and a hugh staff turnover. Every time I go there, they have othe...

Re: salary of the president of Peru

that's what the people ruling this country (so called elites) want! 1% rich and 99% in poverty yeah. Cheap labor force to be exploited and make the rich even richer - and you cannot escape that when you are poor as you must work to eat! Cheap stuff for the upper class. Cheap restaurants, cheap taxi...

Re: Peru helping to Venezuela

I'm pro "importing" people from VE to (northern) EU & Switzerland. They would be a far better support to these countries than the waves of people from middle east we have seen in the recent path. Why doesn't the US take in all those Venezuelans? The US is closer and there's room enoug...

I would like you to prove that Spain can actually receive thousands and thousands of new migrants.. I went to Spain in 2014 to look for a job. I applied for at least 750 jobs. I speak fluent Spanish and a few other languages. I have experience in sales, restaurants, hotels, aviation. I am prepared ...

In Spain they at least sieve the sand from time to time on main beaches. In Peru all the dirt is left over for ever  Rubbish is everywhere in Peru. Though, there are many cleaners and waste collection. But half an hour later, it's full of rubbish again. And that's not just in Lima but almost ...

Chifa Capon at the plaza in Magdalena del Mar is very good as well. Downstairs is supermercado Capon. Probably the cheapest and for sure one of the best supermarkets in Lima. The also play very good music in the supermarket. They speak little Spanish but the cashiers' looks are worth a detour. Espec...

You could always just buy a house in cash and just save on the whole interest thing anyway. I'm doing the whole two job routine at the moment. It can easily be made to work to your advantage. Obviously it depends where you live but where I am the housing prices are very cheap and working two jobs c...

Re: Playa Punta Negra - not really recommended

Our daily trip today was to Punta Negra. There is a large beach over there, some restaurants and even hostels. However what I noticed compared to previous year they have raised the prices nearly by 50% for food - it is quite insane. Chicharon de pescado s/45, it was s/30 last year! The water was al...

My MIL lives alone in a big ole house in Ica. Just her alone, BUT when my wife and Mr. Gringo (me) go for a visit, suddenly all the relatives come out of the woodwork to stay a few weeks. Can't get any peace and quiet. It's gotta be because Mr Gringo (me) is there. Sometimes I feel like a freak in ...

Of course you are to young to remember the pre EU days when there was a socialist government in England ,Led by Harrold Wilson. I was paying 16 % and that was competitive. They just happily get their loans at 12% and work hard to pay these mortgages. It will be here more painful than in other countries. 12%. We have them coming in from our garden. Fumigation twice a year keeps them at bay, but you will still get the odd one. Never kill or damage a cockroach in your home. They will release spores and in no time you will have an infestation of the little blighters. And never step on them. Their eggs will...

They will all be stolen on day one and broken up for scrap metal.

I have seen people removing the gearstick and even the steering wheel to avoid it getting stolen overnight.
And then they still find their car back without wheels on bricks.
