Re: Wire transfer from Peru to the U.S.

I also did it from Chase and it ended up costing me $50 in the US to do the wire transfer from what I remember, and $25 more approximately to receive the money in my BCP account here in Peru. This was for a $500 transfer. Fees can change, and it may also be that the fee is a percentage of the transf...

Re: Getting US Bachelor's degree recognized by the SUNEDU - bachiller or titulo?

Sorry it's been forever since my question was posted, but I thought I'd update everyone on the results. I presented all the paperwork to the SUNEDU at the end of March, and my recognition was granted in the middle of May. My US bachelor's degree in Anthropology did end up being recognized as a "...

Re: Wire transfer from Peru to the U.S.

I've done the reverse (from the US to Peru) before. It's generally very expensive to do a direct wire transfer through the bank. So I got my work CE in January 2017, and renewed in December 2017. I have one of the newer CE card, without the old holographic stickers. On the card, it has a printed "expiration date" in Jan 2018. I was never notified to pick up a new card with the new expiration date or anything like th...

Getting US Bachelor's degree recognized by the SUNEDU - bachiller or titulo?

Hi everyone So I'm currently in the long, somewhat arduous process of getting my U.S. bachelor's degree legally recognized in Peru by the SUNEDU. The process is a recognition (they legally accept my degree from the US as valid here and register it in their database). It's a less arduous process than...

Re: TAE, tasa alien tax cancelled

Hey, so I found out last year (after paying the TAE at the bank for 2017 thinking that I had to) that the TAE is cancelled AFAIK starting in 2017, and so it applies only to previous years. You do still have to renew your residency or Carné de Extranjería annually, which is a different process to the...
