I wasn't able to extend my tourist visa in time so am gonna have to overstay at least 2 months but more likely 9 months so wondering what to do. I read that theres a fine of 1 USD per day on leaving the country. Thats not so bad for short overstays but 9 months and it adds up. If I do a border run ...

NO! When I picked up my renewal passport, the US Embassy did not advise me of having to register my new # with Migraciones or I would be subject to a MONTHLY FINE. When I notified them of this they told me basically "We are not responsible for advising/interpreting Peruvian law...". I hop...
