Starbucks coffee in Peru and everywhere else is terrible, almost as bad as subways coffee.

This doesn't help but to this day i still can't understand why people use one glass to drink beer in a group, pass it around but they ever drink all of it, the last bit either ends up on the ground or in a little glass set aside.

Am i right in saying that the minimum wage is monthly? How do they determine the hours worked? Also what would a fair wage per hour be outside of Lima? I know receptionists who are getting 20 Soles for 7.5 hours... so does 2.75 per hour for unqualified work seem reasonable? Or could the pay be 2.50 ...

Everyone in Peru seems to get a monthly or sometimes daily wages, why?

I border hopped in August into Ecuador, left through the border crossing with gap between borders (can't remember the name of the place but never had a problem there coming in or out) but came back through the other border with the two offices in the same building, had left Peru on that border cross...

I would say yes. You probably arrive in Madrid Barajas in terminal 4S. If your next flight leaves from any other terminal you will have to pass immigration and take a bus to another terminal. Some sites say yes, some sites say no... i guess with so many from the UK on here one of you much have done this trip with a Peruvian and can clear it up for sure. I think no but i'm really not 100%.

Totally agree with you Ton. Verde taxis from the airport are always good, they have a desk but someone will probably approach you, they'll have an official ID. The couple of times i've went with them the taxi has always been in good shape and the driver very friendly... S/45 to Barranco. I hate payi...

I have not a clue how the gold stars work. Never really thought about it though, now I am curious. Volunteers have 5 stars, i imagine admin has 6... the rest if us have 4 after a certain number of posts, no clue has to how many, doesn't seem to be a lot though. Kelly has only 4 stars too though? If you start at Parque Municipal at the Av Grau side take a right on Carrion, that street leads to Av Bolognesi. 593 shouldn't be far from there.
