last weeks in Lima

Our stay in Lima will be ending soon. It's been a marvelous time. I have had lots of happy moments with my Peruvian relatives, and I've renewed friendships with many old school friends. I have felt welcomed back by family members and friends I hadn't seen in many years and that has been a very appre...

The realtor mentioned by DC20833 is one that I used following words of praise she received right here in Expatperu maybe a year or two years ago.I am not entirely sure I remember who wrote recommending her, but I have the feeling it was DC20833. Am I correct? If so, DC20833, I am sorry to read that ...

Re: Best age for a half Peruvian child to live some time in Peru

Re: Best age for a half Peruvian child to live some time in Peru

I agree that international moves are easier when children are younger. In my view, the best time to make a move like the one you describe would be in the early elementary school years. Older children have a harder time, partly because they have more to leave behind, like their identity with their pe...

I suggest asking the security guard in your building, or the cleaning staff, or the other maids who work in your building. They often have relatives seeking a job. Perhaps another expat family leaving Peru has a maid who will soon need work. I would try all this, and not place an ad in El Comercio, ...

Skin cancer is common here. Health education campaigns to teach the public the dangers of excessive UV exposure take place every summer.
