Re: Marriage Counseling

I highly recommend Rosa Goldfarb, a psychologist working in Surco. She is listed on the US Embassy medical resources list.

Ohio English Institute

Does anyone know anything about the Ohio English Institute? They recently posted this job on Craigslist: http://lima.en.craigslist.org/edu/1466201835.html. I am interested in applying for a job but there are so many scams on Craigslist that I wanted to get some feedback first about this organization...

As I mentioned earlier, the restaurant is more pricey that many other options in Lima, but in my opinion the quality of the food and atmosphere are worth the extra cost. Sorry if you were confused by my post-- I was definitely not recommending Hierbabuena as a dinner option every night for a family ...

The main dishes are between S./20-30. The appetizers (which are portions large enough for me to eat as a main course) are S./10-20. The restaurant is more pricey than chifa or fried chicken and french fries, but the quality certainly is worth the extra few soles.

Hierbabuena

I just wanted to give some support to my favorite restaurant in Lima, Hierbabuena, that seems to be having some trouble filling up the seats. Hierbabuena is an organic food restaurant in Miraflores (Calle San Martin 533, 2558552) with a menu that features an eclectic range of foods and drinks, a qui...

Has anyone used the bus company Oltursa? I am planning a trip by bus from Lima to Arequipa and I was wondering how this company compares to the others.

I also recommend La Posada del Angel. I have been to the two locations on Pedro de Osma, the third location is on San Martin. The service was friendly, the music was good, and the menu seemed very decent (though I only had drinks).

Salon/Spa Tipping

Is it customary to tip people who work in salons and spas? If so, for a S./15 eyebrow wax or a S./60 massage, what amount would be appropriate?

Maple Syrup

Does anyone know where I can find REAL maple syrup in the Miraflores/Barranco area? I am not talking about the Log Cabin or Aunt Jemina variety. Thanks.

There is an ecological store behind Madre Natura (Av. Chiclayo 815, Miraflores) that sells natural body products, including jojoba oil. They may have other carrier oils as well-- I have not looked. To get to the store, enter Madre Natura, go through the back door into the courtyard, and turn left.

Madre Natura (Av. Chiclayo 815, Miraflores) has excellent firm yogurt. They have plain and flavored varieties, as well as soy yogurt.

Beekeeping

I am interested in learning beekeeping and I was wondering if anyone knows of any English-speaking beekeepers in Lima who might be in need of an assistant or apprentice. Spanish-speaking beekeepers would be okay too, but I am still learning the language so that would require some patience on both si...

Which supermarkets in particular? My local Vivanda (on Alcanfores) only has soy milks with dairy products added in.

Non-dairy Milks

Greetings,

I was wondering if there is anyplace in the Miraflores area where they sell soy milk or other non-dairy milk alternatives. I noticed that the supermarkets sometimes stock soy milk, but it has cow milk or cream mixed in with it. Seems to defeat the purpose...

Alan,

Thanks for this information. I am not currently in Lima, and I was hoping to order a copy in the United States. Do you think it would it be possible for El Sol to ship a copy to me if I pay for shipping costs with a credit card?
