Re: Photography

Hi Alan,
Thank you very much for the tips that you have given me.
The street theatre looks to be my favourite to go to.
Unfortunately I shall not be here for the Military Parade because that would have been ideal.

Could you please recommend a place/institution in Lima that will allow me to take photographs. I have been to the Palace for the changing of the guard, and the police prevented me from getting near to the railings to photograph, so group shots were impossible of the soldiers, as the railings were in...

Re: Immigration Changes

Hi, Maybe someone can help me here. Soon my girlfriend is going to be moving to Lima for work. Her immigration status is being taken care of, and originally we were hoping I could come with her as her dependent. But that's looking less and less likely each day. We've been considering our options. Th...

Photograph Enlargements

Can anyone tell me, is there a business in Lima that will enlarge photographs that are held on a USB, to a 75 x 50 cm size? Besides printing on Paper do they print on Canvas and stretch it on a wooden frame, thus allowing it to be hung on a wall as photo/picture? I can get this done with no problem ...

I have sent a letter containing Legal Documents, to Lima this week from the UK. I used FedEx, and it was picked up on Monday afternoon, and was delivered in Barranco this Thursday afternoon. It was tracked and using the Express Package Service cost £59.57. To have sent this via the Royal Mail and be...

Hello

Last week we went to the Maison de Sante in San Isidro to find that they have closed down that Clinic.
We then had to go to Surco, where they have a much larger Clinic to get the treatment we required.

As a fellow Brit, if you look at the Martin Lewis Money Saving expert on the internet, you will see that he recommends the Halifax Clarity Card, which gives the best rates of sterling exchange rates on the day of each use of the card. The card is free, and is so convenient to use, simply agree to pa...

Double Glazing

Hi Everyone,
I have an apartment in Lima which needs to have all the windows replaced with Double Glazing. Can anybody tell me please, is there a company/retailer in Lima, that will design, and install good double glazing with a white PVC finish?
Thanking you for your time in reading this.

Re: The magic question

I was in Singapore in the late 60's, and the laws on the carrying of guns were, in the execution of a crime, carrying a gun, was an automatic 10 year prison sentence. If the gun was discharged (nobody hurt, it could have been fired in the air), automatic death penalty. Also note that prison in Singa...

Hi Eve When visiting your family in Lima, if the holiday is 30 days or less KLM return flight comes out at approx £650, if you want to stay longer the cost goes up to £985. I have queried this with KLM and never received a satisfactory answer why they increase, if even 1 day over. Hope that you have...

When I purchased my apartment in 2012, I transferred the monies from my UK bank account to my Peruvian wife's account in Lima, with no problem. However it is advisable to have all records of transfers from which bank account and, sent to whom and for how much. This is in the event of the Sunnat want...

Expect to pay at least double what you would in Europe or America, unless you go the chi chi route [/quote]

I purchased a battery for my Apple Macbook Pro last year in UK for $140 so perhaps that could be used as a guide for you.

Is there another, cheaper method of transferring monies from a Lima account to a U.K account than using a bank. The HSBC would have cost almost £90 for transferring £1000.

My wife brought her unlocked Blackberry from the U.K. and bought a prepaid SIM card from Claro. When that did not work, we were then told that with Blackberry you can only have a contract, and not a Pay As You Go card. My wife bought a cheap Pay As You Go phone to use in Lima.
