You might need an adapter for your laptop. If you bring your 110V hair dryer and razor, you will need to buy a transformer (in Peru, you can find).

Or just buy a new 220V hair dryer and razor once you get here.

You have to leave Peru and go to a Peruvian Consulate in another country to get your resident visa first. I went to Argentina, cost me around 80 dollars.

No, because when it was new, it played the original dvds, but now after a year or so It does not. It still plays all the copies.. Wierd huh.

After playing 100s of dvd copies on our dvd player.... When I try to play an original, it does not play the original. Do I have a cheap dvd player or does something happen to the lense/reader where it cannot read an original after playing copies for so long? Hmmm not sure.

I wire cash from my USA bank to Scotiabank. My bank charges 35 dollars for an international wire, and Scotiabank has a small charge also when my wife receives. Take about 2 or 3 days for the process to be complete.

Yes I ment $1000 a month. We do own or own dpto also, so it was fairly easy to manage. The biggest expense is the gas for the car, and the 2nd is the phone/cable bill, then elect bill.

I married in Peru and I stayed with my wife for an entire year. I went to spanish classes and the beach a lot. I loved it. I spent about 1000 a month, and that's living pretty good (supporting my wife and step daughter).

I usually wire transfer from my usa bank account to scotia bank, cost 35 dollars for the transfer.

I have used western union before also, cost 65 dollars (for receiver to receive instantly) for the transfer.
