Yeah, I know there are independent trucks for hire all over Lima. What I am looking for is a reliable and trustworthy professional taxi service that can get me and my ample stuff to the airport at a very early hour of the morning (5am).

M-bags are not as cost effective as they used to be, though they are convenient. Check out the official rate sheet at USPS. A full m-bag (66lbs) to South America will set you back $277, which is over $9 per kilo. Compare this to air cargo on LAN at ~$3 per kilo ($90 total) and Continental at ~$2.50 ...

You can send books or whatever through the various air cargo services. Unless you contract an intermediary agent you'll have to deal with customs on your own.
