If you have one property, then I believe it is 0%. At least, is one when I sold a few years ago. However, it may have changed - but I don't think so.

There are taxes applicable if you own more than one property, but don't remember how much.

I didn't cancel my carnet because I was coming back within the 6 months and I certainly didn't notarize it. If you're so worried about it, just go and notarize it.

Forget about notarizing it. Just sign it and hand it in.

Well, you can leave without canceling it. But getting a new one when you come back becomes a hassle. I would suggest do it right. I know someone that had S/. 2000+ of debt on a credit card that he hadn't made a payment of for months... the bank called him and offered to 'wipe the slate clean' if he'd pay S/. 900 by the end of the month. He couldn't, so he didn't. But it was a good offer from BCP!
