Re: Introduce Yourself!

I can help there Helen. I'm nearly an Australian, I leave my Island State of Tasmania to fly overseas to mainland Australia. Lucky we do not need a passport. Follow the posts about the weekly coffee group, we meet every Tuesday at Starbucks in San Isidro at 4.00 p.m. There are two Starbucks in the s...

Re: a weekly coffee group

Well this sounds like we could be having a cosy little chat over a coffee today. For anyone else who wishes to find us, just look for the hot air rising and listen for the dulcet tones of the English vocabulary being murdered, mainly by me. Will be looking forward to meeting some new faces.

Re: exciting news

MarcoPe, I just hope the Tuesday coffees are not contagious, I'm at the age where you say how cute the baby is, but happy to hand the little bundle of joy back to the loving parents. Congratulations

Re: a weekly coffee group

It was great to finally get to the meet Marcope at Starbucks last Tuesday. It is always an interesting time to meet other people who have ventured to Peru to live and listen to their experiences. Being that he is from USA and I am from Australia, it did not stop us conversing like a couple of old wo...

Thanks everyone. I think I shall be making a trip to Café La Arabica in the very near future.

Fresh Coffee Roasters

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a local coffee roaster or roasters in Lima where I can buy freshly roasted coffee. I always prefer to grind my own beans, so I keep away from using the supermarket brands. Appreciate anyone who can help.

Re: So long peru (adios)

I am wondering if Peru has been lost in this debate. I gave up reading it midway through the 4th page, as I decided it had no relevance on questions pertaining to the short or long term interest of Peru for Expats. Other than a couple of personal opinions and a debate about the United States that I ...

Re: a weekly coffee group

Went to Starbucks last Tueday at 4.00 p.m and after being overwhelmed by the absence of everyone had a coffee amid great conversation with myself. Luckily, I only asked questions,( Like where is everybody) but haven't resorted to answering myself yet. So, should I venture to San Isidro this Tuesday ...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

Hola todos! My name is Daniela, I am Australian and arrived less than a week ago to Lima. I am here for work, but I wanted to make contact with some other people that might be keen to do some sight seeing or to go for a drink one afternoon on a Sunday. Sitting at restaurants with my work at night i...

Re: Time takes for package to clear Peruvian customs

If you sent any packages by post, they are probably at Serpost. I waited over a month for 4 boxes I sent from Australia. I was lucky to be home when one of them arrived, which happened to be the third one I mailed off. Two of the others finished up in a Serpost depot miles away and the another one f...

Re: a weekly coffee group

Other than the thought that if you do not know me, you will not miss me, I was intending to front up for a coffee on Tuesday. Even checked out the correct location of the other Starbucks on Sunday. But unfortunately I am down with the "gripe" and decided to give you guys (and gals?)the ben...

Re: CE in a nutshell

As another Australian, I would like to thank Mahou123 and Chuck from Australia. I was at Interpol yesterday going through the same routine and my wife and I have been wrestling with the payment problem for most of the night. I even rang AFP in Canberra. I also agree with the comment about the lady t...

Re: Shipping personal items to Peru

My Items included most of my clothes,(shirts, jumpers, trousers and jackets) shoes, cd's, Bath sheets, electric blanket, mattress protector, office items even my good set of saucep...

Re: a weekly coffee group

Thanks MarcoPE, I will certainly try again next week. Is there any indication of who the Expat Peru members are, or do I just listen for the dulcet sounds of English serenading, wafting or downright blaring across the room?

Re: a weekly coffee group

Could someone tell me if I got it wrong. I went to Starbucks in Ave Las Begonias and spent 30 minutes there, but I did not notice any group forming at all. This is the Starbucks situated where Riply's has an entrance. I thought it was a bit further up the road than being opposite where Tottus is. Be...

Re: Introduce Yourself!

G'Day, I am Tony, I am from Australia (Well Tasmania anyway, it's pretty close)just moved here to Lima and married my fiancé on the 29th April. That was also my birthday. My wife Vilma decided on that date, so I would not forget the anniversary date. Something to do with the date we met in 2008 (eit...

Re: a weekly coffee group

I'm new in town, so I might try and make it next Tuesday, without committing too far in advance. I look like being here for a while, so it will be good to start meeting new faces.
