We have learned that exchanging in Argentina is the best way to go, because we can get up to 7 pesos/$1, which is incredible.

I had my dog spayed last November, and I couldn't have found a better vet. The attention she gave my dog was incredible, and I would highly, highly recommend her. Animal Place in Miraflores. Oh and she studied in the States, so she speaks perfect English. http://animalplacevetperu.com/Main.html

hi, The site is good but you can get the same type of service if you buy "El Comercio" on a Sunday. If you want to stay in Lima for a couple of weeks it would be best to stay in a hotel because you'd probably spend more on food and other services that type of websites offer. Hope it helps...

Barranco has become more expensive in the last two years, because it is the up and coming place to be. I highly doubt you will be able to find anything near the beach for less then $500 a month unfurnished unless you head south to San Bartolo or something.

English teaching jobs at schools are pretty hard to come by here. However, if you want to do classes with companies, there are usually plenty of opportunities. Expect to be paid around 25-30 soles per class, and you could have 2 or 3 classes a day. You don't need a work visa to work.

I went in April to Arica for a border hop, and I received the full 183 days when I returned. I even exited 3 months after my visa expired, paid the fine, but still had no problems returning.

I did the English teacher hustle with several companies here in Peru. There are tons of these jobs for native speakers, but they don't pay great and you have to do a ton of commuting (I had a class that was 40 minutes by combi from my home). It is more like private tutoring then a "school"...

You can use baking soda and water to bathe dogs. I have three dogs, and I bathe them at home. However, my vet, Animal Place in Miraflores, is fantastic, and they do grooming. I highly recommend them. We also purchase our food from them as well, because the food in the markets is of very poor quality...
