In the states, you can give directly to the Red Cross or Salvation Army and ask that it be directed to Peruvian Earthquake relief..they will honor that request... I live in San Borja and I could not be happier. Some of the best restaurants that do not cost $40 a person are here, especially if you like Ceviche. It is very safe, the national museum is here.
