Re: Peru and the Falkland / Malvina Islands

But despite all this history i don´t think it would have mattered as Britain really did want shot of the islands in the 70s as it was costing a arm and a leg to keep it going at the time and the economy wasnt good at all. They also wanted rid of the islands despite the Falkland islanders wanting to ...

Re: Peru and the Falkland / Malvina Islands

I´m noticing a lot of bad history thats going on in this forum. I supplied a full time line of the falklands in the last post to help people understand the history. It´s only a time line tho so doesnt go too deeply into the full history. The British and Spanish both had settlements on the falkland i...

Re: Peru and the Falkland / Malvina Islands

Its really sad i think what is happening between Britain and Argentina at the minute and obviously the last thing that anyone wants is for War to break out again over the islands and of course all the oil thats been discovered has put the stakes up a lot. You also get the armchair generals and iggno...

Re: Expat Torrent sites, Proxy servers & sports on PS3,Xbox

Will have to check that out, but is that 99 dollars per month? The MLB, NBA, NHL channels are very good but tend to be a lot more expensive than back in the UK as it tends to cost about $120 per channel and where as back in the uk if you want to watch a Teams channel its about $60. Also you could si...

Re: Expat Torrent sites, Proxy servers & sports on PS3,Xbox

how good a quality is USTVnow ive been on it once to check it out and the quality doesnt seem to great the time i was on it. I do use P2P4U.net for all sports live streams, but its the unreliability that i don´t like with these channels and the poor quality of picture and endless pop ups.

Re: Respecting the humidity and cold

I never have any trouble with my in laws about cold drinks as they know how much i struggle with the heat in Lima theres maybe 2 or 3 months in winter where it gets to a normal temperature which isnt gonna make me suffer. Re: Dream of moving to Peru from Dallas

I was also just wondering this as i dont know too much about Peruvian culture but i don´t think they´re that interested in the whole Bar and Sports Bar. I tend to get the impression that social life and nights out involve either going for a meal with friends or at the weekends either a house party o...

Re: Silly pleasures from home

I was looking at Amarula the other day and wondering what it was like! I was guessing it was kinda like baileys but with a fruit twist to it. Theres was plenty of cheaper versions of baileys back home, you could get a bottle of Declans for about 3quid and it tasted just as good. Do they sell any typ...

Re: Silly pleasures from home

Theres not exactly loads to choose from when it comes to beers in Peru apart from the top 4 peruvian brands you´ll be lucky to get maybe 4 or 5 international beers in a supermarket. Pint of Murphys, Cafferys or Guiness wouldn´t go a miss i have to admit!

Does anyone know any torrent sites maybe that you can get american sports from? i was a member of footytorrents.co.uk which also had sites for american sports and its a pretty good way to keep up to date with stuff as you just down load it and then plug your usb into your flatscreen. Is there a commercial gym wholesaler in lima any where i wouldnt mind just buying my own stuff for the apartment at somepoint. I did check in ripley once about free weights and that was very expensive as well, but i get the impression Ripleys isnt the greatest place for value for money!

Re: Good local gymnasiums??

Does anyone know where theres a decent heavy duty weights gym in Lima. I´m looking for a gym that has leverage plate loaded equipment mostly as most of the gyms ive seen here dont really have any really heavy weight stacks on the equipment, theres a tendency for machines only to have 75kg or 100kg s...
