There should be a notarized Power of Attorney specifically giving the person in Peru the power to sell the apartment. Your attorney and a notary should check this carefully.

We have seen a dramatic drop in the Dollar versus the Sole but Peru will rack up a huge foreign debt doing so because it cannot be sustained. So I would not worry.
