I think the problem with these couriers like DHL and Fedex, is that they charge a 'processing fee' If you get a packet through Serpost, then once in a while it gets 'red flagged' and you need to go to Serpost in Lince to get your package. It can be that in that case you don't have to pay customs fee...

Because of the tax laws, it doesn't make sense to buy on paper for a lower price, because once you sell it again in the future your taxes will be higher, as your 'profit' is higher ( because your acquiring price was artificially low .. )

What I understand of that list is that anything that broadcasts a signal will need this approval. So any Bluetooth, Wifi or radio emitor will be held by customs to get MTC approval.
A harddisk doesnt broadcasts nothing so is without a MTC restriction.

I wouldn't be too worried about that. As long as you don't bring a lot of the same items, which could be considered a commercial quantity you will not have any problems. Specially if you don't go over the limit. That limit is exclusive of the allowed items, so your laptop won't count as it is allowed.
