In the case of it is true, that it is very frequent that "gringos" in Peru don't even make the effort to learn the language.. the question is why ?


Good question, I shall ask them next time. It's not a case of if its true, I have to do a lot with Expats, and it's my personal experience.

Well believe or not, housing is more economic in Germany too. I saw some really nice flats, of course not very big for €40/50.000 in some smaller nice cities. What chi chi said about Spain is even better in Germany.
The German language however could be just not so easy to learn.

You mean everything is permitted? Seems so or not. Archaeological research is forbidden, and if by any chance you find some you must render them to the government. The same is valid for firearms, explosive material, bombs, etc. As far as I know you don't need no permission to search on public ground...

I do not have problems with foreigners working illegally here or elsewhere as long as they're behaving well and it's only temporary and their intentions are to settle down and become legal as soon as they have the possibility. Well recently the spanish police arrested 34 of people from SA including Peruvians for drug smuggling.

Furthermore the lapsus Humala made was quite serious for a President. The European commission immediately denied any change in the current visa status as a reply to his unfortunate declaration.

Until now there has been no change to the actual visa rules.

From what I saw, it still works out at Tacna - Arica. Paying your overstay for 180 days is a bit cheaper than taking a flight to Tacna and do the hassle of boarder hoping.

At Chavez Airport a friend of mine got a big discount for his overstaying, paying less than 50% of what he should have paid. Seems despite there is a law it really depends on the mood of the officer at the customs.

Maybe I made some sort of a bad translation, but the exact translated text of the regulation is like:

"The visa has to be used within one year counted from the date of issue."

Hope that is clear enough. I did not wrote the regulation, only tried to put it in English :-)

No new law, only a wrong interpretation. You still can do the boarder hop and ask for your 183 days. Before summer however the immigration law will be overhauled and we still do not know what will be changed.

What are the tougher regulations? Since 2013 officers at the borders now have the faculty to deny entry to foreigners. Foreigners have to go through more Interpol checks. Foreigners with police records could be denied the entry into Peru, and if already living here, residence or renewal of their CE...
