Re: Investor visa

Proofs again that whoever you talk to at migraciones, you get a different answer. Also the information on their website isn´t updated. Their website still says that you have to invest at least $25000. At migraciones in Breña, they told me that you need to invest at least $30000. That's so normal in...

Re: Investor visa

@chi chi
You don't need 5 employees from the beginning but must employ them within 2 years. You must provide a declaracion jurado.

Wrong. Has changed for 2013. Now must be within the first year. Read Tupa at page 68.

Re: Question about "visa run"

@sunflower: You're feelings seems right to me. Recently talking with some Italians who came to Peru at the airport they have been given only 90 days even when they asked for the 183 days and a document has been given to them stating the following when asking for the visa extension: 1) Passport with ...

Re: BUFFETS ???

The biggest and one of the best I've found here: El Bolivariano http://www.elbolivariano.com/ Wide choice of everything. 1 free Pisco Sour. They nearly had to carry me out after I had tried all the sweets to finish my meal. I combined the visit there with a tour at the archaeologic museum nearby. Ru...

Re: Health Insurance Options in Lima

Second that. If you never get out of Lima to get a health plan in one of their clinics will be more economic. Otherwise Rimac or Pacifico are a better choice as they both operate their own ambulances for emergencies. To cover everything up however could be quite expensive. My friend is covered for 7...

Re: Deposit issues

It is absolutely common not to give back the deposit in Peru. None of the owners from whom I rented my flats gave it ever back to me. They didn't even invented false damages. So when I rented my last flat I simply did not pay anymore the rent for the amount of the deposit. Problem solved. By the way...

Re: Question about "visa run"

It''s indeed very complicated to work in Peru. As I found out nearly nobody wants to sponsor you, not even if you're willing to pay the expenses. And if you think you can do something on your own, forget it without shelling out $30.000 plus the expenses for your 5 employees. Rules have changed this ...

Re: Metro/Tottus/Plaza Vea

I also hate Metro. I only go there sometimes on Wednesdays with the bonus card from my employee who is over 65 as you get 10% discount on your shopping. In my opinion Tottus has the best meat quality. Plaza Vea is very good when offers are available like 3 x 2 or 50%. Wong has a lot of imported stuf...

Re: Work visa - better to start on tourist or business visa?

I second the advise from sunflower, get a tourist visa and you get 183 days, trust me you will need them all. I also must confirm what Euroman is writing, you can find a job, I am also looking for a job and I know a lot of other foreigners who do and I can tell you it's not so hard, but it will be v...
