Fanning is right and you can do it with your passport. When I did this, I was asked if I was using my Carnet or Passport for the check. They will look up your passport number to see if you have been in trouble with them :) It took me about 20 minutes from start to finish (after the hour in the queue...

1 large, ripe lucuma
6 ice cubes

a teaspoon of vanilla essence

Mix it in the blender... essence of lucuma milkshake. There's nothing better.

You need to pay the interpol Fiche at Banco de la Nacion, I believe, and take the receipt with you. I think they will also charge something like S/.5 for taking your photo there. Take change. Just ask in the Banco, they should know which one it is. Otherwise checkout http://www.theultimateperulist.b...

The best thing to do would be to come over for a ''trial period'' and see how things go. Lima works on contacts so you need to network and get known. It's the old saying of 'it's not what you know, but who you know' that gets you in the doors.

The cliff top parks of Miraflores have free mini gyms and you can do about a 5k run from the start of the Malecon to the end. There are bars for pull ups, benches for ab workouts and much more all along the way. Why pay for a gym? If you wanted a swim, there's not too many options doing it this way....

If you do not have belongings on show, don't worry.

These kind of thefts are almost always opportunistic - if you're easy pickings and they can run off with a handbag, laptop or something.

Keep your stuff out of sight and locked in the trunk/glove box or don't take it with you.
