Re: Buy to let

The 3% fee is called Alcabala which is paid by the buyer on any property which is bought which is not brand new. Very worth knowing as that makes the price rise quite a bit if you have a decent budget. The capital gains tax does not apply if you have been in Peru for more than two years and if it is...

I stayed at the Emperador by the main square in Tacna. It's not the best and I do not remember the rate. It was a bit noisy at night so I moved to one of the top floors. As for the border corssing, you do not necessarily need to stay in or even go to Arica. You can go through the check-points to lea...

Buying is relatively straight forward as a tourist or as a resident. Make sure that you have good legal representation (I have used http://www.notariagutierrezadrianzen.com/ in Miraflores). If you are a tourist, you need a special stamp from Migraciones to allow you to legally sign a contract. Renta...

There is a place across the road from my apartment which has two dogs. These dogs roam the streets in the day and go back home when they get hungry. Or try Clinica Americana in San Isidro or Clinic Good Hope in Miraflores.

I do not believe Chi Chi's information is correct about the Notaria. Why would the builder pay your legal costs?
