ADVICE PLEASE

Postby mgf1953 » Fri Feb 05, 2010 4:11 pm

Hello everyone I am new here.

I wonder if someone can help me.

I want to buy a cot and matress for a baby for my partners daughter who lives in Chiclayo. Its crazy to buy one here in the uk and send it because of the cost.

Does anyone know how much a cot and matress costs in Peru so I can send her some money and where can she get one from, are their any web sites you could direct me to

Many thanks

Gracias :D

From 250 to 1500 soles all together.

http://www.mundobebe.com.pe/ is a good shop, has one on M.Izaga in Chiclayo. Expensive, good quality, about 1000+ soles.

Cheap ones are ok too, made locally. Just need a decent matress. There are dozens of shops around the city, next to Modelo market there is a street full of furniture shops. There are basically 2 options: cuna (just a regular cot) or cuna-cama, much bigger and more expensive one that can be converted to a bed later on.

Maybe I am simplifying it a bit, but why not ask your partner?

If you are in Lima, go to Villa El Salvador. There´s an area full of furniture shops.
The prices are much lower. Because they are factory shops.
You can buy exactly the same furniture than they sell at the top end shops in San Isidro or Miraflores buy at a fraction of the cost.

I bought a set of leather sofas. Price in Villa El Salvador: 1200 soles.
Price of their shop in Miraflores 5500 soles.

If your girlfriend is in Chiclayo just deposit the money in her account and have her buy it, it'll only take an hour and the store will deliver it to her house. I don't think there's any way to order furniture online here and I definitely wouldn't buy anything like that that I hadn't seen and touched in advance.

Moneygram is just as fast as Western Union, and a lot cheaper.
