Buying A second hand car

Postby b.a.0210 » Wed Dec 19, 2007 10:36 am

I've been looking at second hand cars here in Lima and they are very expensive. Then I started looking at cars for sale in Chile. They seem more reasonable in price. Can anyone tell me why cars in Peru are so expensive? And is it cost effective to buy a car in Chile and then pay the import fees?

The answer is very simple, taxes which have just been lifted for imported models.

The main reason is that tariffs and taxes rates on cars in Peru are almost double the rates that payed on cars in Chile.
