English speaking psychologist/therapist in Lima

Postby Alanisentity » Tue Aug 23, 2016 9:48 am

Hi, I'm looking for a psychologist or therapist whose first language is English. Not someone who also speak English. I've tried attending therapy here in Lima with peruvian mental health professionals but I got the impression that they are not familiarized or prepared to deal with someone coming from a different culture. If you know of any please let me know.

I know a woman therapist who has dual US/Peruvian citizenship thru her parents.
Haven't chatted with her for a while, but assume she is still practicing at 35-40 years old.
She speaks perfect English & is such a nice person.
PM me with your info & I will send her an email. Best wishes.

I have visited Peru and plan to visit again this coming March. What is the process or requirements in becoming a psychotherapist in Peru? I’m a Spanish speaking therapist in the US.
I can’t seem to find info on licensing requirements or education requirements.

Thanks

People often ask me for a referral to a psychologist that is fluent in English.
Until late last year, I could do this; but this woman decided to move to Madrid to further her education.
Does anyone know of any professionals in these field who understand English?
Best wishes & thanks.

Hi all,

My name is Gabriela and I'm an expat psychotherapist who recently moved from Massachusetts, USA to Lima. I am fully bilingual (English-Spanish) and just started my private practice here in Miraflores, Lima. I am taking new clients for counselling and psychotherapy. I work with very diverse clientele, spanning from children to adults, and offer individual, couple's, and family therapy. Feel free to check out my web page and get in touch!
