I would no way trust a dentist in Lima. You can hardly trust them even in Europe, so be very careful. You can try to search dentist lists on consulate home pages, some of the embassies in Peru offer lists of "trusted" doctors that they recommend. If you really have to go for a doctor try one of them. Google is your friend.

There are world class facilities in Lima. I recommend you try: http://perudental.com/about-us.php

Not the cheapest option, but they will give you excellent service.

Before thinking about cutting corners and saving some money on a dentist, you may want to read this thread and what happened to woodchuck...

I'll second the recommendation for Peru Dental. As mentioned, probably not the least expensive option available, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Even though they're a bit pricier, it was still a fraction of what I'd pay in the states and with better service and overall experience.

Implant, root canal, fillings replaced - no pain at all. Very professional staff from your first contact with the office administration and the receptionist to the dental assistants and dentists themselves; all of whom are very attentive to patient needs. The facility and equipment are state of the art. You never wonder while sitting in the waiting room or dentist's chair that perhaps you made a mistake, thinking you should've spent the little extra and gone elsewhere.

Without a doubt it was the best dental experience I've ever had. Anywhere.

If you're interested in pricing you should contact them and they'll be more than happy to discuss pricing and options with you - in perfect English if that is your preferred language.

Such stuff happens everywhere not only in Peru. The difference is it may happen to you in Peru on average much more frequently than in other parts of the world. Second, you will have no chance to claim any rights in Peru and if you do, you may be threatened etc. So, be careful.
