contraceptive implant (Nexplanon)

Postby Axylotle » Fri Dec 28, 2018 12:27 pm

Hi there, a bit of a different question out there

Currently, my partner and I work at sea for long periods of time. We will be traveling through Lima in a couple weeks and plan on getting this implant hopefully in Lima. We both are English speaking.

Hopefully, someone knows where it would be best to get this contraceptive implant (Nexplanon)?

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Cheers everyone!

I applaud you for exploring alternative methods of birth control.
It is sad when a pregnancy interrupts the joy of a couple expressing their - sexual chemistry.
After my wife & I had two (2) children, I scheduled a vasectomy.
It is a much easier & simpler operation of birth control for the man.
Why do so many Peruvian men (that I encounter) not consider this?
Is the operation covered by insurance as in the US?
Best wishes to you for taking pro-active responsibility for contraception.

Hi,

If you have not found an answer yet, write to this NGO http://www.pathfinder-peru.org. They have offices in Boston, so they likely have English-speaking staff. According to this article, they sponsored a campaign to promote the free distribution of Nexplanon in Peruvian hospitals.

You could also try this clinic, which is conveniently located in Miraflores and offers a wide range of services. https://www.suizalab.com/
