Northern Peru Travel Book

Postby Patepluma » Wed Feb 06, 2019 3:50 pm

Come across any good books about northern Peru lately? Probably not. Almost everything about Peru focuses on the same few places in the south. Peru's northern interior is mostly unexplored territory to even many serious Peru travel aficionados. But it wasn't always that way. In the 1800s, the 'Moyobamba Route' was the main connection between Peru's Pacific coast and the Amazon basin. Thousands of foreigners rode the mule trails between Trujillo and Yurimaguas. The book "Following Ghosts in Northern Peru" weaves together stories from historic travelers, characters from Peruvian history, and my own adventures as I journeyed in the travelers' ghostly footsteps across northern Peru in 2017. It's available from Amazon in both Kindle and soft cover editions. Learn more about the book and browse dozens of illustrations at the website below.

Nicely explained. I'm thinking on buying the lonely planets or footprints
