Sending expensive cell regeneration meds from US.

Postby woodchuck » Fri Jul 12, 2019 12:45 pm

My daughter is a doctor in the US & she is testing new cell regeneration meds.
The one product I like is expensive, $200 for a 30 day supply.
Will I have problems having the product shipped to Huaral (import duties, taxes, pick-up issues)?
To your good health...

Probably the same problems as the CBD oil...

Even over the counter items such as vitamins can be stopped by customs when shipped by courier and they ask the recipient to present a prescription from a Peruvian doctor at the offices of the DIGEMIN. It's a huge hassle and would be especially so in this case, since it is experimental and a doctor here would be wary of writing a prescription for something he does not know or understand.

Alan, thanks for the info.
A person having the meds in their luggage wouldn't have these issues?
Is Peru more restrictive than other S. American countries in this regard?
What is the maximum value before duties/taxes are assessed (used to be $100)?
Thanks again.

I am appalled! Why would ANYONE make such a statement that a medical doctor, ANYWHERE, "does not know or understand" what stem cell is. You should apologize to the Peruvian medical community.

I understand why Alan made such a statement.
I have been in many small communities of Peru & the doctors are not current on the new medical trends.
I would like to try these new meds, but do not want the hassle of having them delivered to Peru.
Anyone coming to Peru that could bring the meds with them?
You will be well rewarded for your efforts.
Thanks.
