Why are realtors hard to find?

Postby filmsmurf » Wed Aug 14, 2019 7:13 pm

Hi expat gang,
The wife and I are considering an early retirement in Cusco and we have been trying to find a realtors website that has current listings...no luck. Everything seems to be 2017, or have very little info, or be an agency out of AUS.
Of course in the US, we are used to realtors on every corner and they all have well developed web sites.
How do we find a good agent? Should we fly in and kick tires?
We have seen listings (older) that are for nice homes in gated communities for some serious money. Is it crazy to move to one of the smaller towns on the outskirts of town like CP Llacuarmaqui or CP Ingeneiro Robles?

Advice is most welcome.

Try this page. There are a number of listings. https://www.remax.pe/agentes.php?combooficina=135

Thank you!
Do you find that these listings are accurate or up-to-date? I've seen some from 2017...

Hi there. Really, I don't know, since I live in Lima, but give them a try. BTW, I found the page searching "agentes inmobilarios cusco" (also spelled "cuzco"). Remax is a going concern, so if those realtors are no longer working, they will be able to recommend others to you.

Good luck, and keep us posted about how things work out for you :)

First you mentioned Cusco then Arequipa.
You sound indecisive on where to live.
Perhaps renting in an area would be the best strategy to make sure you like the area.
