Where to Advertise to Find/Hire Local Housekeeper? Chaclacayo/Chosica

Postby Canadian-Eh » Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:44 pm

Hey gang!

I'm looking for information on where I might advertise to hire in home help.

Looking to hire a couple of pt/ft housekeepers as well as pt/ft kitchen help.

Any ideas on where to start :)

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Gerald

Hi Gerald,

These positions are usually filled using informal networks. For example, friends or cousins of your sister-in-law's housekeeper, or somebody somebody in the community (maybe a shop owner) might recommend. Besides that, sometimes people will simply hang a sign outside. The other scenario is to go to an employment agency and ask there. There are many that specialize in placing household workers. Whatever the case, ask for documents and check references.

The job sites I check regularly (with little luck  ) are CompuTrabajo, Bumeran and Indeed. Add a .com.pe after each.

If this is for your residence, as opposed to a business, then Alan said it better than I can. Ask your neighbors, put the word out, let it spread through the grapevine.

Thank you all for chiming in...

It's for home/residential yes.

Will start forcing the discussion to locals then :)

Coming from Canada and having lived in Orange County CA for a few years, this is like walking through a time warp to find and get things done here lol.

I've learned to slow down, expect less, and 'just be' - All else will come in due time, on Peru time.

Cheers to great health and happiness gang, thanks again!

Here is a tip I just heard: go to the neighborhood park, the place nannies will take children, and ask them if they have friends or family members to recommend. Again though, always ask for ID, and check references.
