I have lots of friends here in Vancouver who home brew... after all, the Pacific NW is the home of the micro-brew.... but I don't know of anyone (mis amigos peruanos ni gringos) who homebrew in Lima. I once asked a beer loving peruavian friend about smaller batch beers locally... and he replied "with so many great options locally... Cristal, Cusquena, Pilsen, etc... why would you brew?" Well, if you like sharp lagers... peruvian beer has many appeals, but if you like beers that are a little heavier, with more interesting tastes and bodies, like you would get from a home brew... local beers don't quite get it!

In addition to homebrewing... does anyone know of small batch, micro-brews that can be found locally (i.e. not at Vivanda, Metro, Wong or Plaza Vea)?

Cusquena has a new limited production "trigo" that I tried today and it was very good.
