To be more specific, what is the best coffee considering value/quality?

It´s what I buy usually. Inexpensive and pretty good. Should have been on the list. Sorry about that. The poll has an option limit of 10.

Difficult one, but I agree that Altomayo is probably the best for both quality and value. Cafetal can't be beat on value and it's really not too bad. I tend to treat Tunki like a 20 year old Scotch and buy it for special occasions. The other brands I buy on a whim and I like most of them, apart from Incafe, but nothing has really stood out.

Not a store, but I still like the coffee from Cafe Verde in Miraflores. Watch it being roasted fresh every Monday.

you can buy bagged coffee there. also has a "born on" date. good, fresh coffee. and competitively priced.
every place has it's own spirit. you just need to tune into it.

I have tried Cafetal and Altanayo regular and it is just coffee at a fair price. However, about 6 months ago I tried Cafetal Americano in the red and gold bag. It is the best coffee I have found in Peru. Just my opinion. It costs about S/. 30 per 500 g but I like it so much that I am willing to pay the price.

Out of the store-bought coffees I've been buying recently, Villa Rica has become a favourite.

anyone know where to get whole bean coffee? the only one i've found at metro was APU and while it's pretty good, there must be some other places that sell whole bean, and since Peru is a coffee country, there must be cheaper alternatives.

Not looking to debate on the lack of whole bean coffee options in Peru, just looking to find great whole bean coffee :)

I buy 500 gram Cafetal whole bean coffee at Makro for S/. 23. I find it good coffee to drink, but on my last trip to Colombia I bought some coffee, which I am finishing ( Actually one coffee from a finca I visited, isn't that nice, it has a sour taste on it, if you put boiled water over it ).

Haha. I think you should be required to try all the brands before voting. For the price, Cafetal is what I normally buy for company. it IS good. However, nothing beats Britt. You just have to expect to pay more. ¡Provecho!

I plan to go to Peru and really want to try their coffee. Thanks for the advice.
