Navidad sales on smartphones

Postby ironchefchris » Tue Nov 07, 2017 12:11 pm

I need to get a new smartphone but figure I'll wait until the deals for Navidad kick in, which I'm told will be mid to the last week of November.

I'm fine with a S/69 - 99 plan and am hoping to get a phone with better specs where currently you would have to sign up for a more expensive monthly plan. Anyone remember what kind of offers they had last year or years past?

Here's the smartphone I bought last year on cyber Monday.
Huawei Ascend XT from the Chinese company Huawei.
Not your top of the line model but I can't justify paying hundreds of dollars for something that will be outdated in a yr or two.

I'm happy with it. Good speed and a large screen.
Almost phablet like.
But depending on your needs, YMMV.

Came locked so I had to get it unlocked. No problem.
Amazon sells them unlocked.
GSM so shouldn't be problem popping in a Peru sim.

Large and in charge!

But it is not an Apple, some just need that extra pa-zaz in their hand.

I'm with Big Daddy on this. Since I don't watch videos, play games, or do other things that require the latest and greatest, I don't need to drop $$$ on an expensive phone that will be somewhat obsolete in a few years.

All I care about is call quality, storage capacities, and that it won't fall apart if dropped. Hoping to get a well reviewed, mid-level phone but with a less expensive monthly plan and not have to pay over S/. 1000
