EXPAT REGISTRY?

Postby woodchuck » Tue Sep 11, 2018 1:48 pm

The last 1.5 years my Peruvian wife & I have been searching for a permanent place to live.
We have visited at least 20 places & finally found a location that we both like.
It would have been great if we had expats to help us with this decision.
How do you feel about an Expat Registry for sharing ideas & information about places in Peru?
Thanks.
PS - We finally chose Huaral; contact me if I can help in your relocation process.

And wouldn't we have to give our real names?
That could be dangerous.

Or where you live. I would guess most go to the hinter lands to be a hermit.

I have personally found it very difficult to locate expats outside of the major cities of Peru. Many times, I was only in a location for less than 2 weeks, so time is of the essence. It is always a pleasure to meet another expat & have a coffee or beer & talk about the pros & cons of a new location. This is why I feel an Expat Registry would be a valuable tool in Expatperu. Steps could be incorporated to protect identities, etc. Thanks.

Yeah, and talk about the cons in a new location.

It appears expats are not really interested in such a Registry.
Sorry I have wasted your time.

Hi Woodchuck,

Most expats who are interested in networking now gravitate towards social networks, particularly Facebook. Why not set up a local FB page for Huaral?

Cheers...
